Chocolate Negroni

This is a twist on the classic negroni.

For those that do not know the Negroni, it is to this decade what the Cosmopolitan was to the '90s—a zeitgeist (spirit of the times) defining cocktail that’s as beloved as it is hated. A little like marmite. How did this bitter concoction—made of equal parts Campari, vermouth and gin—go from relative obscurity to headlining every cocktail list worldwide?

In the last decade the Negroni has morphed into a mainstay of any self-respecting cocktail menu. The Negroni's popularity shows no sign of slowing. Due to its simplicity the base spirits can be swapped out for other styles and most bars will have their own rifts.

The Chocolate Negroni, which was invented by Naren Young at Cafe Dante in the West Village, New York. The original recipe used Punt E Mes, which is an Italian Vermouth, but we have changed this for Vermouth Di Torino.

It is a subtle drink, by adding the bitters and chocolate liqueur it provides the confectionery twist.
